The Sunnmøre Alps

WILD, MAJESTIC,
AND BEAUTIFUL

We would like to share with you our passion for outdoor activities. Beside our daily jobs in Currence Robotics we are also frequent users of the nature surrounding us her in this part of Norway. Our area Sunnmøre is located at the northwestern corner of Southern Norway. Not far from the open waters of the Atlantic rises the sharp peaks of the Sunnmøre Alps. The Sunnmøre Alps stretch from Nordfjord in the south to Storfjord in the north, with the core area surrounding the mythic Hjørundfjord. The Sunnmøre Alps is a favorite among summit enthusiasts from all over the world. No where else in the world will you find such majestic mountains rise up from beautifulnarrow fjords. The mountains rise straight from the fjords up to heights of 1700 metres.

Winter in Sunnmøre often starts with good skiing conditions in November, and we often have snow until June. The long season, the heavy snowfalls, the amazing peaks and the easy logistics rapidly attracts more people to our area for skiing. With well over 300peaks above 1000 meters, you should still easily get fresh tracks the whole trip. The high season for ski touring here is the spring. With snow covered alps, green mountain sides and blue fjords it’s a tremendous arena for skiing. On the other side, the earlier you go in the winter, the bigger the chance is to experience dry snow all the way down to sea level.
